Major Changes
US National Conference
The 2001 US National Conference made numerous changes in its Discipline. Of particular, several new chapters were added.
Ordained Chaplains. A whole new category of ministers.
Chapter 20: Organizing New Churches. The highlights of a new chapter.
Chapter 31: Disbanding an Annual Conference. A new chapter.
Chapter 37: Property. Two previous chapters on Property were rewritten and combined to form this one, which has substantial changes.
Chapter 44: Local Church Conflict Resolution. Brand new.
Chapter 45: Discipline of Church Members. Some of these ideas were previously found in the section "Law on Trials," but this is basically a whole new chapter.
Chapter 46: Discipline of Church Bodies. Some of these ideas were previously found in the section "Law on Trials," but this is basically a whole new chapter.
Appendix a: A Model for Membership as a Process. This appendix grew out of a study committee on Membership.
General Conference
The 2001 General Conference adopted governing documents for the international church. those documents are:
