Legal Opinions on the "One National Conference" Idea

Two lawyers were asked to give opinions on whether or not we could dissolve the annual conference structure without first passing a constitutional referendum. Both lawyers agreed that a referendum was needed, and the US National Conference acted in accordance with those views. You can read the legal opinions.

Other Information

Bishop Paul Hirschy prepared an information sheet which summarized most of the major changes being proposed in the US organizational structure. You can read it online, or download it in Microsoft Word or PDF format.

General Conference

The international General Conference began on Thursday afternoon, June 23 (following the adjournment of the US National Conference). You can view online the schedule, list of delegates, and other information. A major action was the acceptance of two new national conferences into the worldwide United Brethren fellowship: the Philippines and Mexico. That brings the number of national conferences to seven.
