Director of Education and President of Huntington University
Dr. G. Blair Dowden became President of Huntington University in 1991. The person
in that role also serves as the Director of Education for the US National Conference.
Before coming to Huntington Univerisity, Dr. Dowden served 7 years as Vice President for Development
at Houghton College (Houghton, NY), and which was preceeded by 10 years in various
roles at Taylor University in Upland, Ind. Dr. Dowden graduated from Wheaton College in 1974 with a degree in Political
Science. In 1978 he earned a Master's in Student Personnel Administration, and
in 1981 he received his Doctorate in Education Administration. Both graduate degrees
came from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.Dr. Dowden and his wife, Chris, have two children, Beau and Marlee.
