Benevolence Giving

The 2006 benevolence giving was $799,366.97 compared to $523,238.11 in 2005. We ended 2006 at 94.8% of our 2006 benevolence budget compared to 74.4% in 2005. As of the end of March 2007, benevolence giving was $203,988.74. We ended March 2007 at 94.8% of our 2007 benevolence budget compared to 89.6% in 2006.

The General Benevolence Received and Disbursed report shows how the benevolence was distributed for 2005, 2006, and the first quarter of 2007.

US National

US National Funds ended 2006 with a change in fund balance of a positive $334,411. This is an increase over 2005, which ended with a negative balance of ($205,624).

Reasons for the increase:

  • Benevolence giving was higher by 20.4%.
  • Proceeds from the closing of two churches.
  • Increase in bookstore sales.
  • Michigan Conference gave money for Church Multiplication in Michigan.

The US Statement of Financial Position shows the changes in the net assets over the past two years.

Global Ministries

Global Ministries ended 2006 with a change in fund balance of a positive $175,369. This is an increase over 2005, which ended with a positive balance of $48,520.

Reasons for the increase:

  • Increased general giving.
  • Increased Special Projects giving.

Ministers and Missionaries

The Ministers and Missionaries Defined Benefit Pension Plan Fund Activity Report shows the fund changes over the past two years. The Ministerial Aid Benefit Report shows the active participants in this program.
