The Worldwide UB Church

The United Brethren church has nine self-governing national conferences--the United States, Canada, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, Hong Kong, Sierra Leone, Jamaica, and the Philippines. Together, they comprise the Church of the United Brethren in Christ International.

Delegates from these national conferences approved a set of governing documents in 2001. The documents are not long, but do point out the main doctrinal beliefs which hold us together and processes for working together. They are:

1. The Confession of Faith. This is exactly the same as the Confession of Faith originally adopted in 1815 (which is also part of the US National Conference's documents).

2. Core Values. These eight statements were adopted by the international governing body in 2001.

3. Constitution. The international constitution was established in 2001 and has not been amended.

4. By-laws. The international bylaws were adopted in 2001 and have been amended a few times. Most of this information is procedural in nature and expands on the statements in the constitution.
